Many thanks for the kind words of encouragement, ive uploaded a few pictures of my elf (mac) the first picture is when i first picked it up, to be honest it was a bit to far gone with rotten inner wings and floor but i bought it of a freind in a pub after a couple of pints! the second photo was taken a few years ago the other five photos where taken over the weekend enjoy! Also does anyone have any tips on fitting new head lining, my new head lining kit tipped up today from newton commercial and as fantastic as it looks i thought the instructions where a little light on information!

Welcome to the forum Nathan and good luck with your restoration.
Headling? 1. Make sure you have plenty of time AND patience!!!!
Remove old lining carefully without ripping it if possible and note the colours at ends of the support rods (important)
Lay old on top of new and note the different lengths of cuts at each end of the rods and carefully cut new to same .(mine was badly damaged in a flash back and some of it shrivelled and I had a heck of a job working out how much to cut)
Start at the front using pegs, bulldog clips or clips like they use under the seats (these are the best )
Insert all the rods in right order and pop into the holes. put a few clips on as you go ,keeping the rods as upright as you can.
This is where patience comes in! tyr and have someone (or two) to help.
When you think you have it right, starting at front, trim linling so you have enough to glue it inand fix with clips. These can be taken out if you want when you put door and window rubbers on.
I have a few creases in mine in the rear corners but they are hardly noticable. you should be able to eliminate these creases with patience (which I didn't have trying to do it on my own and several attempts over three days!
I was unfortunate, I had someone with experience lined up to help but he went back to Ireland the week before I did it!

I hope you can work the above out but if you can get a couple of spare hands you should be ok.
Good luck!
Tony

Good luck with the rest of your restoration!

Tony, you said "I was unfortunate, I had someone with experience lined up to help but he went back to Ireland the week before I did it!"

Does your magical friend still live in Ireland? This is a leading question! I have a new headlining lined up and I need to find someone to help me fit it! Smile

Post  Elf 67 on Sat Feb 11, 2012 1:25 pm

Thank you very much, due to the cold snap in the whether and a small amount of painting needing doing before I can fit my lovely new headlining, I haven’t got around to fitting it yet but as soon as I do I will be posting some pics! Does anyone know where the best place to pick up a couple of bulb holders from, that snap into your rear light cluster?????????????????????

Ok so fast forward two years,

It' now looks very much like it's going to be 2014 that Mac will be getting her MOT.Its all booked for next week and she's just about ready to go!

Sorry for not keeping you guys anything like up to date, but will take plenty of photos during the outing to the garage for her MOT to try to make up for this!

I fixed the links for you. You were really close to having it. If you can get as far as cutting and pasting the links, like you did, you just need to add the image tags to the beginning and end, like so:

I don't think Servimg has a way to rotate photo once they're uploaded. You'll have to rotate and re-save them before you upload, (or just remember not to hold your camera sideways when you take pictures.)  affraid
