Correct Fuel Pump

If your pump is a " Facet " (Made in U.S.A.) then it should tick all the time - once the ignition is switched on.
So nothing to worry about !

Yep. Ticking good. Not ticking bad.

To answer your question, it is not the "correct" fuel pump; i.e., as originally fitted.

Not sure how to answer that. If I'm not totally off, I think that your car would have originally had a mechanical fuel pump mounted to the engine. But it may have come with an electric one, although not the one you presently have.

SU Mechanical pump

"Original" Electric Pump

I'm sure someone will correct me.

All the Elf/Hornet cars would have used an electric pump similar to the one pictured.
