Overriders

Post  Red Riley on Sat May 19, 2012 8:49 pm

I saw this in an old Mini Register newsletter from April 2006.

Elf/Hornet overriders

New member Erwin Bekker from Holland, managed to source some overriders for his Hornet and being very pleased with them has passed on the details.

They are supplied by Brian Cherrington (bec@bmautoequip.freeserve.co.uk). Brian tells me that they only supply the Elf/Hornet Overriders for Mini's. They started the project because of friends who were struggling to find seviceable Overriders for their cars.

Does anyone know this person or ever had any information on these? I tried contacting the email but it doesn't seem to be a working one.

Brian Cherrington hasn't produced Elf/Hornet overriders for a few years and last I heard, he wasn't too well. The stock held by The Riley Motor Club has now gone.
I'm sure I have some secondhand overriders in one of my sheds but haven't seen them for some time. I will have a look when the weather improves and offer them to E&H register members.

They were last produced by BM AutoEquipment Ltd (in stainless steel) 2 or 3 years ago, but no longer. There was a rumour that Somerford had bought the toolings and would produce them at some point but have heard no more about this for some time..
