Spirit of Dunboyne 22/23 Sept 2012

Post  Coco_ChanElf on Mon Aug 13, 2012 5:41 pm

Dunboyne Motor Club are holding their annual 'Spirit of Dunboyne' festival of motorsport on 22nd and 23rd September 2012 in Dunboyne, County Meath.

I am hoping to take Coco along to at least static display (if not do the actual circuit), I am wondering whether any other Irish members might make it along? It would be deadly to have a few in a row!

Will almost certainly be there.
I will try to persuade my buddy Pierre Rodgers to :
(a) Enroll his Dublin registered recently restored 1968 Mk.3 Automatic Elf on this register &
(b) Take his " Automatic Lover " aka this car and also its proud owner (Pierre's new bride Niamh Rodgers).

I will try to mention it on the Irish Mini Owners Club forum in case there are any Elf owning lurkers there that might be interested in meeting up.

Smile

David2010.

I have an official entry for the Parade Laps on Sunday next (23/09).
Though I've decided to use my Mk.1 Cooper as it currently can outbrake my Elf - though the Elf is quicker.
This could be important as even with a Police escort last year, we were travelling at in excess of 90mph
on normal roads with little or no aramco ! just a few randomly placed straw bales (hairier than Monaco !!)
Still and all I'm really looking forward to a great blast on Sunday next .
My buddy Pierre Rodgers failed to get an entry (first 50 cars - 1958 to 1967 only accepted as entries).

Looking forward to seeing you there David, probably just going to display since it seems unlikely Coco would make the 50 for the parade lap. Smile

Great Day!

Post  Coco_ChanElf on Sun Sep 23, 2012 11:48 pm

It was a brilliant day in Dunboyne today, the weather held off and David2010 had a great circuit, and Coco attracted some nice attention!

There were two Elf/Hornets there, one belonging to one of the IMOC crew, and another whose owner I never got to meet. I gave them both the EHR web address and forum address (well, stuck it under the wiper of the latter!) so I hope they'll turn up here sooner or later and say hi. Smile

If anyone's interested, there are some pics and video on my Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/29219047@N00/sets/72157631605778010/

It was such a nice atmosphere and some awesome cars, hope some of you EHR folks might make it over next year.
