Front Hubs

Post  Jared Mk3 on Mon Nov 05, 2012 10:10 pm

How do I go about disassembling the front hubs i.e. : the swivel hub from the back plate and the drive flange?

My car has drums in the front. Neither I, nor my dad have ever done this before, so how does one go about doing this?

Haven't done it myself. Have you got a service manual? Could go a long way toward getting you on the right track.

If you pm me your email I have a scan of the suspension section of the workshop manual that explains removal & dismantling of the swivel hubs. A service/workshop manual is a must for any owner, they turn up cheap on ebay all the time (even a mini one will do).

Pull the hub off the CV, and pull the driveflange out.
Take the wheel cylinders off, the link brake pipe off and then undo the three bolts that hold the backplate to the hub.
Simples.
