1960 Riley One Point Five

Post  whitebuffalo on Sat Mar 02, 2013 7:51 am

Ok, I just had to get it. It's a 1960 Riley One Point Five. Hasn't been on the road since 1980 and thankfully it hasn't been modified until I get to it
I had to sacrifice my Austin A35, but sold it to a good guy who is going to vintage race it.

Plans, if they work out, is to add an 1800 with an overdrive transmission, disc brakes and a slightly lower suspension. Eventually it will get a nice red leather interior and a grey or blue paint job.
Thankfully I have an original "pink" slip with the black license plate number on it so I should have no problem registering it and retaining the original registration number.
I will add more pictures this weekend.

A good-looking example if ever I saw one White Buffalo !
An all black Wolseley 1500 in very good condition inside & out is currently on offer here in Ireland for 5,000 Euro (about $ 6,500).
Just curious what you paid for your Riley. It is correctly viewed here as the better version of that BMC duo.
Hard to believe that both models owe their origin to the humble Morris Minor.
