Blyton Park Mini Day 2014

Post  Toga on Sat Oct 12, 2013 1:58 am

Just an early heads up for this event to put in your diaries.

I have organised a 'Mk1 Performance' Minis/variants only track day', Blyton Park, Sunday May 4th 2014 !!

http://www.blytonpark.co.uk/

'Javelin Track Days' will be running the event ( http://www.javelintrackdays.co.uk/trackday/ ) and interested parties can all book through them once booking has opened (Paypal if preferred). The cost will be £129 for a full day's track action .This will be a Mini only day with the emphasis on 1960's cars especially but obviously all minis/variants are welcome. All Mini/variant owners are also welcome to come along and display their cars for free on the day and we will have prizes for the best cars to be judged by a well known Mini racing veteran. Club displays also welcome so why not have an Elf/Hornet display ? I have some very special, rarely seen cars coming along on the day as well as a couple of famous motorsport personalities from the 60's.

Camping is available on Saturday (and maybe Sunday) and with Bank Holiday Monday the day after this takes the pressure off (with the Mrs !)

Helmet hire is available, track tuition, etc.

Don't let me be the only booted Mini there !

i should be there too mate with my 64 elf. as the engine is dying, and it isnt the original engine,i think over winter i will build another one. but with a guessworks hybrid magic wand box, a very subtle turbo setup and a few tweaks here and there! aiming for the track day to get it finished.

Booking line is now open for this event. It will fill up quite quickly despite being some months away I suspect and spaces are limited. Anyone wanting to book track time please PM me for a booking link and a password.

Only a few weeks to go now .  Cool  Track spaces are full with a couple of Hornets on track, we have an autojumble on the day, lots of very unusual and interesting Minis and Minis derivatives. Entry is by voluntary donation to 'Mission Motorsport' charity on the gate. Hopefully we will see some of your Elves and Hornets there on the day ?

We'll also have an exclusive first appearance of a recently restored Riley Elf that was converted by Wood & Pickett in 1967, a truly unique car!

Well not a single Elf or Hornet turned up but lots and lots of Minis did, some great cars and everybody had a blast. Cool

I would liked to have gone but Oulton Park is far enough for my poor little Hornet, let alone the 100+ miles to Blyton Park Sad

If anything closer comes I'll be interested Smile
