Mini 54 in Virginia Oct 9-13

Post  bmcelf on Wed Oct 16, 2013 6:15 pm

Classic Minis United held "Mini 54" driving event in the Virginia Mountains. About 50 Minis were there and three Elves. The three day event had planned drives of 530 miles total plus 17 miles on a bicycle. The weather was not very good but everyone had fun. All drives were in a line on mountain roads. Elves were MNT-596F and RTJ-372G from Florida and my LCO-985H from North Carolina. Several other known Elves did not show up. Vaughn has installed a Honda engine in RTJ-372G.

I'm sorry I couldn't make it this time. I recently un-retired after 10 years of being my own timekeeper. Full time work doesn't leave me enough time for fun. Mad

It WAS DEFINITELY a worthwhile couple of days of mini driving!! Unbelieveably windy, twisty, up and down roads to keep you interested. Very well organized. Recommended.
