Rear Subframe

Post  mattmorris1612 on Fri Nov 15, 2013 12:36 am

hi

I have a 1967 elf on hydrolastic, i am about to take the rear subframe off her as i think its on its way out. what is the difference between a wet and dry subframe? obviously one is hydro and one is rubber donuts with shocks. but whats the differences between the frames?

also i have only previously delt with dry suspension, is there anything i need to watch out for when dropping the subframe?

thanks
Matt

Difference between wet & dry sub frames

The main difference between a wet & a dry sub frame is that the wet frame has locking tabs to locate the displacer that are not on a dry frame & the rear of the wet frame has 2 locating holes for the hydrolastic valves
