Today's outing 25.04.09

Post  TONYELF on Sun Apr 26, 2009 1:41 am

miniaddicts had a rolling road session and Elfie produced 27 bhp at the wheels. At first I was disapointed as the spec says 38 Bhp (NEW) until it was pointed out to me that this is at the flywheel and that on average you lose around 20% through the drive and in view of her age (45 years) and the fact she had been standing unused for 21 years it wasn't bad at all.
On my return I managed to take this shot below. Can Melf and Bertie identify the location? (or anyone for that matter?) No prizes I'm afraid!

Great shot, lovely location. Sounds like a good day - unused for 21 years not bad at all :-) .

The photo was taken at the bottom of St Mary's hill at its junction with Shipgate St. (Nr Lower Bridge St) I'm told it was one of the steepest public roads at one time before it was bollarded off. I have driven in both directions in a Morris Minor MM and on my Vespa 125 scooter!
