Rev Counter fitting

Post  Buzzin' Hornet on Thu Oct 01, 2015 6:01 pm

Afternoon all,
I'm fitting a smiths rev counter to my 66 hornet. The instructions say connect the supply wire to the A4 terminal of the fuse block. How do I know which that is? Anyone?.......
Thanks in advance
Steve

Hi Steve,

That will be the outgoing side of the ignition +ive fuse.  (cos you dont need the rev counter to work when the ignition is off ! )

If you have a Haynes, there is a pic but you can find out which fuse it is by using a test lamp.

Boris

Many thanks, where would we be without forums like this one!

I had thoughts much along the lines you mentioned as the +ive would be entirely logical. I preferred to check here before blowing the balls out of the Rev counter however!

This should allow me to use the Cooper spec head and twin SUs now fitted to the original engine which was comprehensively rebuilt to allow it. Recently found an original Cooper exhaust system to fit on the 3 into 1 manifold. All I need to do now is stop the blow from the joint!
