Wheel spacers.

Post  Jerry&Naomi on Tue Sep 21, 2010 2:31 pm

There is virtually no clearence between the inside edge of the back tyres and the inner wing. So I got a pair of wheel spacers - (Now I'm going to look a complete twit.) I couldn't get the jack that came with the car to work, and I can't find my old bottle jack - (Not sure if I loaned it to somebody, or if it stopped working.) so that's on hold at the moment.

However, looking at it, I think I may also need to change the wheel studs for longer ones, otherwise there will not be enough thread to put the wheel nuts back on.

Any ideas how i go about getting new wheel studs?

Thanks

AnY of the usual Mini parts suppliers will stock different lengths of wheel studs. I've usually been able to just give them a tap with a mallet and fish them out with a bit of wiggling from between the hub and the brake shield, then stack a bunch of washers over the new stud and gently seat it in the hub plate with an upside down wheel nut.
