Boot Holding Up

Does the boot hold up on the Elf's?
If yes then how?

It has a steel bar under the boot parcel shelf with a steel roller that shod sit in a notch in the hinge when boot is open.

Okay, here's some pictures.




Hope that helps. It's a bloody awful spot to get pictures of. As you should be able to see, it's a pair of hairpin shaped rods that serve as torsion springs to hold the lid up.

Ok mine is all there. I can see the bars and roller, but no notch in a hinge. How do you adjust this set up as the boot's hit me in the head twice already
